Formed in 1875, initially as a cricket club, Middlesbrough soon added soccer as a winter sport to their roster. At first, their main interest was the game of cricket but they quickly moved onto football, renaming themselves Weest Bromwich Albion. Started in 1879 as the West Bromwich Strollers, this club was formed by Salter’s Spring Works employees. Nottingham Forest formed as a club in 1865 after a group of shinny players, a game similar to hockey, proposed forming a football club. Liverpool Football Club formed in 1892 after a split at Everton, the first club formed in the city of Liverpool. Their first formal match took place that December and resulted in a 1-0 win over their opponents, Black Lake Victoria. After two years, a merger took place with two other local clubs, one of which was called The Wanderers.
Beginning 1 November 2017, a new mode called “campaign” was introduced, where players face different teams from around the world, from tiny amateur clubs to the best professional clubs in the world. What is known is that a team called the Stoke Ramblers played their first official game in 1868 and that date is seen as the club’s origination date. Sheffield Wednesday formed as a football club offshoot from the Sheffield Wednesday Cricket Club in 1867. They played their first match later that year. Scottish winger, James Lang, played for Wednesday early in the club’s history. It was named for Henry Stuart, Duke of Gloucester, third son of Charles I. Gloucester County figured prominently in the history of the colony and the Commonwealth of Virginia. The club played its first official match the following year against Notts County. After four months in charge, Giampaolo was sacked after losing four of his first seven games, which was exacerbated by poor performances and a lack of supporter confidence. Fulham formed after a collaboration between a school teacher and a warden from a local church, Fulham St. Andrew’s, in 1879. Initially, cricket was the first sport played at the club but soccer soon followed.
It is the oldest club in the world not associated with either a school, hospital or industry, as much of the early clubs were. As a result, clubs in, for example, the English League, an unlicensed league, have ambiguous names like “West London Blue” and “Man Red” for Chelsea and Manchester United respectively, and their home grounds Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford are respectively named “Blue Bridge” and “Trad Brick Stadium”. They have also won 2 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, as well as 2 European Cups (also under Clough).K. The Owls, as they are known, have won 4 League titles, 3 FA Cups, and 1 League Cup. This led them to dominate the sport in England in the 1970s and 80s. Their titles are numerous and include 18 League titles, 7 FA Cups, a record 8 League Cups, 5 European Cups and 3 UEFA Cups. The club has had its ups and down, winning one major trophy – the League Cup in 2004 — although they were runners-up in the UEFA Cup in 2006. The club goes by the nickname, The Boro.K. The club officially became Fulham Football Club in 1889. Fulham won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2002 and were finalists for the FA Cup in 1975 and the UEFA Europa League in 2010. They are known to their supporters by the nickname, The Cottagers.K.
Over the past decade, the club has floated between the Premier League and The Championship on a number of occasions.K. They were a real force in English and European football in the 1970s and won a League title in the 1977/79 season under manager Brian Clough. After the club’s financial troubles of the 2009 season and the move to the new moniker South Coast Wolves, both the home and away kit evolved also. First formed as Bristol South End Football Club in 1894, the club saw a name change to Bristol City in 1897. The club first joined the Football League in 1901 and in the same year, player Billy Jones wass awarded an England place, becoming the first Bristol City player to play for the national side. By 1894, they had adopted the color red for their team uniforms and in 1901, the famous Liverbird became a crest on their chests.
